The cover of the book is interesting. It has that dark horror feel without it being too blatant and the scary movie cheap thrills feel. The prologue caught my attention right away in a flashback type episode. The first chapter raised my eyebrow with the introduction of the detective. I figured there has to be a connection to the original case and her which I predict has something to do with her deceased father. The second chapter takes us to Paul, the protagonist, whom seems to be haunted by his past and that original case. The fact that his mother is losing her mind and living in the past scared me when she started shouting about how he wasn't to be there. Even more creepy was that she thought someone was in their house too. I don't normally sit and read chapters back to back, but this story got me wanting to read more soon.
