Immediate Suspense & Tension
First, the cover: aesthetically pleasing, curious, and effective. I would definitely pick up this book if I saw it in a store just for the cover.
The book: We're immediately sucked into the scene in one line. A boy has died and the narrator is to blame. We go back and forth from the narrator, Paul, to Amanda, a detective who is stressed out from working on the case.
Easy flowing and beautifully written yet mysterious and gripping. I need to read the rest!
