I was gripped from the first page. I wanted to know what had happened for this boy to be taken into police custody.
The first chapter was a good introduction to Amanda and her personal conflicts. By the time she found the body, my stomach was in knots. I wanted to know why this gruesome act had been done on the boy.
The second chapter had me trying to figure out who Paul was. Was he the boy in the prologue who was taken into custody? And when his mother kept saying red hands and it’s in the house, I wanted to read more to find out what was going on and more about Paul’s identity. I haven’t felt this way about a book since reading No Exit.
The cover with the hand makes sense and I think it ties in nicely with the story.
