Usually, when I see books like this, I roll my eyes and begrudgingly accept that people will talk about the sensational parts and leave the actual writing and plot at the door. However, with this book I think the writing style is so well done that it is impossible to ignore.

I was a little annoyed by the premise of the 'dark and brooding' kid being a murderer since it is cliche and promotes the idea that those of us who are naturally a little more dark will actually act on an implus, but this characterization is pretty common place and makes sense in this narrative.

I am really curious to see how this book progresses and am excited to see more from this author in the future.
