Engaging from the very prologue
From the very prologue set 25 years ago, my attention was captured and I craved to find out the details of the crime. As the narrator changed each chapter, I became empathetic with the characters quickly (especially Amanda), and also enjoyed the descriptive nature of the language used. It was easy to picture (even the gruesome) scenes of the book in my mind. Looking forward to reading more!
The shadowed handprint on the cover is a great choice since it so closely relates to the plot, but is a more subtle nod to the crime that isn't obscene or off-putting.
