I read and rated The Whisper Man by Alex North highly because North is a great writer. He really knows how to construct an emotional connection with his characters and readers and "The Shadows" does that in the prologue! I like that there is still a connection between this and his first novel, while still being a "stand-alone" story. It looks like we will get a little deeper with Detective Amanda's story this time around. I would love to continue to read North's newest novel!
