After just a few chapters of The Shadows, I'm already invested in the story! This seems like a creepy page-turner featuring a new murder with a possible connection to an old one, and the only hope in catching the killer will be for the new detective to pair up with the man who was only a boy when one of his friends killed another. Add some a creepy "red hands" nursery rhyme and you've got a winner! If this is anywhere near as good as The Whisper Man, it will be a new favorite thriller to recommend.
