Being a huge Alex North fan I could not wait to start reading his newest book The Shadows. The book begins with a 15 year old sitting in the back of a police car after a murder. Right away I couldn't want to find out what happened leading up to that police ride. It then transitions to the present day where we are introduced to Detective Amanda Beck who is called to another murder scene that seems to mimic the murder in the past. As usual Mr. North's writing drags you into his world, making you a part of the mystery.
