While I do believe this is the language and actions of boys this age, I would be reticent to affirm that by purchasing and or directing them to this book. The slurs used are ones that should never be repeated and certainly not in a book even if ultimately the boys learn the words are wrong. since I only read an excerpt I don't know how the story turns out, but I wouldn't be willing to read any further to find out.
