Typical fantasy/action book
This is a pretty decent book. I love the illustrations, although I was quite disappointed that they were in black and white. The illustrations shown in the first look were so beautiful, so full of vibrant color, and I was dismayed to see that it was printed in black and white. Also, I felt like there weren't many pictures later on in the book, like it was placed there just so anyone looking at an excerpt would see them.
As for the actual story, it wasn't bad. There was a good amount of action and romance, and I enjoyed how the author blended aspects of the real world with fictional elements. It created an enchanting read.
However, what I didn't like was that it was pretty much the typical fantasy book. There wasn't anything unique about it. While it was a good book, it followed the usual storylines that these sorts of books tend to have, and at some points, I could predict what would happen.
