I think it all comes down to the different reading tastes for people and how they so exponentially vary.
My father read this book, and seemed to enjoy it! I couldn’t get through it however. The writing style just wasn’t for me.
Some positives- I love the cover of the book. It’s beautiful and enchanting, and it really draws you in. The art throughout the book is beautiful as well! I am a sucker for art, and I love having faces to put to the specific characters. It’s interesting how even with the written version, your interpretation of what a character looks like can differ so majorly from what another person, or even the author, may picture when reading or writing about the character.
Maybe someday in the near future I will be able to pick up this book again, and really love it! I think it has the potential for that for sure!! As for now though, I’ll just admire the cover.
