My interest is peaked into a genre that I am unfamiliar with.

First of all, for someone who is new the genre, the preface and the map at the beginning are so helpful in laying the ground work for what appears to be an enthralling and beautiful tale of Vivien, The Fall of Seaglove and the characters around it. As I was reading through the pages provided magic and color and wonder lept off of the pages and straight into my imagination taking me on a journey that I have never been.I mix of religion and history and magic take place inside the castle. Vivien will not be the pampered princess that most are expecting. She is well educated and well rounded and understands what it would take to rule her fathers Kingdom. Even though she is young, she is inquisitive and wants to learn and understand so many things. Her father, Cedic has never been involved in war as his country has always been at peace. Cedic, and his country and family are about to learn how different things can be.
