Well that was... pretty much exactly what I was expecting from the cover. The characters speak in a sort of 'ye olde' style, saying things like "nay" and "t'would."

In the preface we have a beautiful maiden who inexplicably falls asleep in a meadow, wakes surrounded by jeering men preparing to have their way with her. Oh if only they knew she was royalty! But then she would give up the secret of "The Mountain." (Why is it always an ominous Capitalized Generic Noun?) Luckily a man appears to rescue her...

I can't stand swooning childlike (but gorgeous) damsels in distress. The princess in chapter 1 doesn't appear to be much better. Let's see, is it written by... yep, a man. Yeah no it's going in the absolutely not pile.
