If you like dense, historical fantasy, this book will probably be for you. I like historical fiction books a lot, but even for me, the start was rough as it doesn't start on a particularly attention grabbing note plus the very historical, flowing writing.
I do question the prologue, which is in one part a foreshadowing of what's to come, and in another part, the author talking directly to the reader and explaining the historical-ness of this work. It should've been split into a forward (talking to reader) and prologue (foreshadow).
