Gorgeous illustrations
The best part of this first impression is the artwork. I enjoy maps in fantasy and science fiction books and was pleasantly surprised at the detail in the maps in this book.
The writing is just okay and very heavy. I didn't enjoy the characters or the actions/thoughts of the soldiers and based on their attitude toward "helpless" women, I don't want to read this book.
