Beautiful Illustrations

The Illustrations are beautiful, and the first few pages promising. I didn't get much farther into the book than that skipping first pages and then paragraphs. If only the author had stuck to the story at hand rather than going into the background, and the religious aspect. I also found it got boring with all the descriptions of how beautiful, how magical, and how unearthly Vivien is seen by man. If only the author had let the protagonist prove her worthiness by her actions. I had hopes for the story keeping my attention but (alas) it failed.
