I wasn’t going to read this at first, because I don’t really like this kind of fantasy with lots of killing and battling, but I decided to give it a chance. I want to be fair in evaluations. I’m sure there are many who would want to read more about Gemma and her sisters and would be curious about the missing artifacts. There’s a lot of action in this plot for those who would enjoy all the warring and battling. It’s just not my kind of book. I know Aiken is a respected author.
