This one is a little hard to put my finger on. I enjoyed the characters, I think I would probably like the book as I continued to read. However, from the first impression I definitely don't feel that I have a great sense of the world this novel exists in. To be fair, the first impression was only a few chapters so in all likelihood the hierarchies and the politics and the heroes and villains etc would all become more clear as the novel went on. But for me personally it was a little bit hard to orient myself into this world when I felt like I couldn't get a real sense of it.
