From the first words I read from The Princess Knight the story drew me in and I did not want to leave the battlefield! Princess and monk-knight Gemma is another great G.A. Aiken character that is witty, snarky and strong willed. I could feel how much she truly loves being a knight and will bow down to no one when she is on a mission that she believes in. I could also feel the love and exasperation she has for her sister Keely the Blacksmith Queen. I am quite curious about the youngest sister Queen Beatrix. Is she truly evil or is she being manipulated by her husband? The death of the monks and their missing antiquities also makes me wonder if Queen Beatrix is behind this or is there something more going on? Quinn added a good bit of levity to a tense situation and I hope that there is a lot more of him in the rest of the story. It was really intriguing and moved at a great pace. Finally the cover is just beautiful! No one could walk past this on a book shelf and not want to look inside.
