**NOTE- I rounded down to 3 from 3.5 stars just because it still don't know how to feel about the ending. Okay so at first... i was so confused. But thats exactly what was supposed to happen. I didn't know who to believe. Who was crazy? Parker? Joe? ME??? This book takes us through the building of trust from a very ambitious man who just wanted to help a patient. We see how Joe uses up all of that trust to manipulate Parker. One of the main things I loved about this book was that while almost every single person was against Parker, he stood by his initial decision. He was confident in his ability and strong enough to overcome what everybody was saying. As for the ending, I don't think I liked that after all of this, Joe was an actual monster. I kind of wished he were an actual person. In that case, I feel like the overall story would make more sense. I'm also not sure how I feel about the aftermath when Parker's girlfriend comes to the conclusion that all she needs in life is him. Just seems like a bit of an after thought.
