The format of this book sucked me in super fast. It’s written in the form of an internet message board, where Parker, a psychiatrist, goes to tell the story of one peculiar patient. It reminded me of a mix between The Silent Patient and The Return. Parker was a likable character, and the plot was very suspenseful. It definitely took a turn I didn’t expect and had some horror elements! The ending left me like... what did I just read?😂 It included some "otherworldly" elements that I did not expect. It got a little weird, but I still enjoyed this debut, and would read more of DeWitt’s books in the future!
