The Patient is the story of a new psychiatrist who begins his career and immediately hears of a very mysterious patient. "The Patient" (get it?!) has caused orderlies, nurses, and several psychiatrists to go mad, hurt themselves, and even commit suicide - but why? Our protagonist becomes determined to get to the bottom of things and come up with a diagnosis for this troubled patient. The book is written in "blog post" format - each chapter is a blog post recounting the story of this patient. The book is fast-paced and short (~200 pages) which I liked. However, I did not love the end chapters. As a future medical professional myself, I was hoping for a more scientific cause to the drama rather than a supernatural one. Stephen King fans will definitely love this one!
