The Patient by Jasper DeWitt is about Parker. Parker is fresh out of medical school and he has been hailed “the golden boy” in mental health. He took his job in a mental asylum to be close to his girlfriend. When he arrives at his new job, he is intrigued at the treatment one of the patients receives. He believes there is malpractice going on but Parker has no idea what truths he is about to uncover! This book is written in a journal format where Parker is posting on a medical forum. I found The Patient to be a quick, thrilling, and spooky ride. I gave the book 4 stars and would recommend fans of horror/psychological suspense. I found it comparable to Sarah Pinborough and both Stephen King’s novels.
