This book started off as a typical suspense book but with an underlying sense of dread. Taking place in an inpatient psychiatric hospital is an interesting setting, especially since I work in mental health, and there aren’t a ton of suspense/horror books with this setting. Since I work in mental health I was curious to see where this book went with the plot. I was surprised at the turn the book took but ended up liking how it ended. It may be confusing in regards to symptoms of different diagnoses to the average lay person who is not familiar with mental health however.

This book has a theme of horror, so be aware of that - not your typical suspense book! This book was riveting and a fairly easy read, I’m surprised I haven’t heard much buzz about it since it came out.

Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for giving me an early review copy!!!
