The author writes in a very pleasant, almost lyrical manner, which is in sharp contrast to the subject at hand. In fact, you are gently nudged into what is apparently a false sense of security tinged with an underlying, creeping uneasiness. His descriptions of people, places and events paint solid visual images in the reader's mind. Characters are well-developed and engaging. An ominous sense of dread/horror builds early in the book. As a Nurse I was impressed by the use of solid medical terminology scattered throughout the first 23 pages I read. I wanted to read on, but I was only able to read a free 23 page preview/excerpt of the book. I'm already hooked, so now I will have to purchase this novel to find out more, and how in ends!
