I couldn't wait to get my hands on a copy of The Patient. I was intrigued by the book from the beginning...a patient who has been in a mental institution his entire life, from the age of 6. A patient whose mental illness has not been diagnosed after 30 years. A patient so disturbed that nearly everyone who comes in contact with him goes insane themselves. Yes, please!

I loved the style of the book, that it was written in blog format by Parker, the last doctor to attend The Patient. I wonder if adding some of the comments to his posts (since he refers to them in the narrative) would have given it a more "blog" feel rather than a "diary" feel.

I could feel Parker's determination to solve the puzzle of The Patient, that arrogance mixed with curiosity which turned to a real desire to both help and answer the many unanswered questions.

All in all, I thought it was well written and fast paced; it definitely kept me turning the pages!
