I enjoyed this fast-paced CRAZY read. It was written like a blog post giving you small chunks of the information. The story slowly unfolds are you are left wondering what's going on. Then by the middle of the book, you are flying through the pages to find out what is REALLY going on and what has this doctor gotten himself into. I loved how the book was laid out, how the author slowly told the story so you were blown away by the fascinating and crazy ending.
The Patient is a suspense/horror book about a doctor named Parker who is determined to help a patient named Joe. The story unfolds like a blog post in Parker's voice. It follows Parker's investigation into Joe's life. He was first admitted to the mental hospital when Joe was six years old because he had night terrors. Now Joe is 31 and Parker can't figure out why Joe is still institutionalized. The story unfolds slowly and deliberately. I felt connected to Parker but not to any of the other characters. Parker's wife Jocelyn is barely mentioned and I wanted more of her interaction. I enjoyed this one even though some of it as a little creepy and overly descriptive.
