Oh man... where do I start? This book should be right up my alley. The Silent Patient meets Stephen King, great! This book started off strong but did not deliver for me. It’s way too short, making the resolution feel rushed and honestly, confusing. It felt like the characters arrived at the resolution way too abruptly, too. I was also irked by some of the descriptions of mental illnesses. A lot of the diagnoses were described with outdated terms, which seems like an easy oversight that could have been fixed with some research. All in all, I liked that the story drew me in and that it was a quick read. I enjoyed the narrative choice to tell the story via “Internet forum”. However, it just wasn’t enough for me.
