It starts off on a dark and stormy night, with a Dr who wants to fix the medical system, and in a psychiatric, underfunded hospital where most of its buildings are falling down. This Dr also thinks he is the bees knees and a half. Eventually he goes on to find a patient who is possessed by a demon, and makes it his life's mission to cure him.

Most of this was believable within reason, and not to bad. The Drs massive ego got old real quick, and I was never given a reason to like him, so I didn't. But what really bugged me and I could not let go was the fact, that the demon patient had basically been ignored for 40 ish years and his patient notes were basically forgotten and ignored. And I don't care how much of a head case you are, that simply would not happen.

And after talking to my wife about this book start, she pointed out that almost everything in it was a troupe of one kind or another. Wich isn't bad persay but when every last thing is a troupe of some kind, I can't take it seriously. Also I initially thought this was going to be a psychological thriller vs horror, but once I found out it was a horror, I was even less interested.
