as someone who's spent a lot of time online scrolling through open forums (and submitting a few stories of my own) for the sole purpose of getting Spooked Out, i can definitively say that the style of this novel is going to scare the absolute bajeezus out of someone. i skimmed the first look and while medical horror isn't necessarily my thing, the "true events" nature of storytelling gets me. i might actually enjoy this. as a horror purist, someone who was raised on the genre, i worry that there's nothing new and exciting left with which to scare me. this novel is no exception.
