This book is set during the Spanish Flu. It begins with a little girl named Pia, and her family. They are living in Philadelphia and are visiting a sort of war festivity to support the troops. They are a German family and must conceal this because of some new law.
As for my opinion of the book. This book, for me at least, was not really captivating or interesting. I am not a particularly interested in this time period, and so far the text seemed generic and not really all that different from many other books that already exist. Though it may be because I am looking at this through the lens of the current pandemic and this topic is not one I enjoy at this time... It could be liked by someone else though
