This is a great book. This book is about a girl named Pia in the times of the Spanish Flu of 1918. It is set in Philadelphia. It is about all of the children that were orphaned but specifically about Pia and her quest to find her family after falling ill. So many orphanages crowded and families displaced. Heart wrenching and heartwarming at the same time. It is a story that shows us through pain, love can be found and families are made up of more than the traditional view. It was so interesting and the story was great all the way through. During our own pandemic of 2020, it was interesting to read about another pandemic from long ago but still see similarities. I would recommend this book.
