For whatever reason, I just couldn't get into this one. I tried several times to read it and just couldn't get further then the first 50ish pages in. I did really like Pia and the hints of magical realism taking place. I also loved Finn Duffy. I could see them being the most adorable couple. I'm not sure if it's just that historical fiction usually can't keep me invested, but I really wanted to like this one and I just never got into it enough to keep going.

The story follows Pia Lange in her struggles to overcome all the death and chaos of the Spanish flu, but must leave her 2 baby brothers in order to do so. A grieving neighbor ends up taking her brother's without Pia's knowledge and she goes on a harrowing journey to find justice for herself and her brothers.

It had potential. I truly think that for people who enjoy this genre, it could be a really worthwhile read. The writing was solid and it wasn't difficult to read at all. It just wasn't my cup of tea.
