This book would have been frightening a month ago. Now it is ever more so. Many parallel have been drawn from the 1912 pandemic and the one we face now . Everyone is effected, worried, anxious and scared. The difference is now we have mass communication to keep us informed ( and more anxious ?). The same emotions are evident in the pre ire if this novel . Hopefully the strength the characters exhibit will inspire people to do the same now
