My first impression of the book was that it was stunningly honest. The complete and total grief shown, from both characters, felt so real. The cover helps add to this idea - seeing such a young child look so forlorn is what peaked my interest to begin with. I want to read more to know how the two characters react to their grief, to know if they give in to the helplessness and if they don't, how they work to survive.
