Pia seems like an interesting enough protagonist and the fact that this book surrounds the real events of the Spanish Flu, considering what’s going on today, I may have been interested in this novel. However I found the writing to be much too wordy to enjoy. The paragraphs fill nearly entire pages and they are much too descriptive to captivate me.
