The first thing to draw me into this book is the cover. It makes me want to know about this orphans life and what has happened to her. As many other readers have mentioned, this story is coming up a time when it is extremely relatable. Pia is stuck in Philadelphia where hundreds are dying from the Spanish flu. This will be an eye opening story about the hardships of family, life and how these epidemics can change your perceptions of the world. I will be eager to see how Pia discovers the truth and where her life may take her.
