A story about the Spanish flu and how it tore through Philadelphia. This is a story of a young German girl trying to hide her heritage from the world while living through an epidemic. I like that the character of Pia is well developed and it's nice to see the epidemic from a child's perspective. There are so many people dying. Much of this story parallels what is happening now. This is a gripping story and I can't wait to find out what happens next!
