I was blown away at the unique subject matter of this book and found it be a little off putting at first. It was hard to understand and acclimate to the tone of the Indian lifestyle and about the hunting and overall norms of the culture. I had to put it down a few times and come back to it in spurts until I really got going. I am so glad that I kept going until I better understood the book and where it was coming from.
There is a group of four Indians that have grown up together and made a bad decision to hunt outside of their approved land in the reservation. That day they find a bounty of elk and end up separating a mother from her calf. Fast forward ten years later and revenge is sought and the Indians are hunted one by one. I will be looking to read more from this author and was very impressed with this book.
