The Only Good Indians was the best horror book I read all year, and that's saying something - I read over a hundred books total.

The Only Good Indians is a story about four young Native American men who previously made a big mistake on a hunting trip. Now, on the ten year anniversary of that hunting trip, the four men are being haunted by the spirit of elk they wronged.

This book was great. Stephen Graham Jones puts so much feeling into his writing. Each of the four young men has a portion of the book, a good look into their lives since the hunting incident. Just enough to become attached to these characters. Enough to become worried for the lives of these characters.

The Only Good Indians is a haunting tale of revenge, but it's also a tale about friendship and family and atonement. I haven't stopped thinking about it since I finished it. I can't wait to read more of Stephen Graham Jones' work.
