This book is full of haunting and basketball. It was a perfect book to read near Halloween, as the veil between worlds is lifted, and you can feel the sense of something more on the wind. This book captured all of the mystery of fall, with the weather changing as circumstances did. I think it was just perfectly done.

There are some really wonderful sentences and moments in this story. It took a moment to understand who was who and what was what, as the story shifts slightly between several characters as it goes on, but once you realize what's really happening, you can't stop reading until you reach a resolution.

I love how the author incorporated indigenous elements into the story rather than playing with the same old haunting tropes. Is there such a thing as retribution for the bad acts we commit? What if vengeance came in a form we never anticipated?
