This was way outside my genre but I really enjoyed this even when the writing was different. It was very oral history writing-- felt Native American oral story.

I read this with a book club and a lot of people didn't enjoy the writing in this story but if you have read NA literature or oral it makes sense. It has a lot of little hints of knowledge as well, and it seemed to depend on your background and gender. As towards the end gender I think plays a lot into the story.

It wasn't so much horror for me like other I have read. There is still a lot of horror and don't know what is going to happen with twists and turns and well a lot of blood. There is also just so much you don't understand until you finish the book.
