Horror isn't generally my thing, so I surprised myself by being hooked on this from page one! The Only Good Indians, so far, follows a few Native Americans who have left their reservations are plagued by visions of elk who seem to be, so far, premonitions of danger. Whether or not those two ideas are related has yet to be revealed.

The style of the writing is easy to follow. There's no winding sentences or overbearing description, and the short sentences lend easily to creating tension in the exciting scenes. If I'm rooting for your characters out loud, the craft is clearly well done.

I can't speak to the representation, as I am not Native American, but I will say I was definitely intrigued by how unapologetically interwoven the character's culture is with their stories. This first peek felt like it was too short- but not in a bad way! I desperately want to read more!
