Seeing that it was from Stephen Graham Jones made me stop in my tracks. I've read one of Jones' previous novellas and was captivated by the balance of culture and mystery elements. I have also been keeping an eye out for this book since I heard about it - what a cover! This excerpt is the perfect hook and I feel satisfied that my intrigue was warranted!
