Loved how the cover of "The One That Got Away With Murder" is a perfect fit for the story. The necklace featured on the front cover plays a role in the story and thus makes sense as the cover illustration. I was immediately drawn into Lundy's style of writing. All of her teenage characters seem real and multifaceted. It is worth noting that this story is for older YA readers as drinking, drug use, and murder (obviously!) are featured prominently in the story.

This read kept me guessing as to what was happening to Happy Valley teens. Were the girls murdered or were the deaths accidental? If they were murdered, by whom? The story was so fast paced that I wanted to keep reading to find out the answers to those questions. The reader continues to learn more about Lauren's past and the trauma she had experienced because of the fire, which I feel like really contributes to the book. Great YA thriller!
