If you need a fast-paced mystery to read in the sun this summer, then look no further, The One That Got Away with Murder is it! This follows the story of new girl Lauren who gets involved with Robbie Crestmont, a cute rich kid who may or may not have killed his last girlfriend. Another death rocks their town and Lauren gets thrown in the middle of the mystery.

Lauren was such a frank and raw character. She did have secrets and issues, but she didn’t try to hide her true character, and she was ballsy, which I liked. And although Robbie may be a murderer, he is super likeable, and you can’t help but root for them as a couple. The pacing of the story was perfect. I read it all in one day, which is not normal for me. There are a lot of twists and turns that will keep you speculating until the end. Overall, this was very enjoyable and I would definitely read other books by the author in the future.
