The book is full of mystery and intridgue on every page, making you want to read more and more. It isn't a fast read, more like one you have to pay attention and dedicate time to but sometimes, those books end up the best kind. The characters aren't perfect, but flawed which makes them human which is an aspect I like and it highlights how actions in our past can mould the people we grow up to be. The writing is mature and descriptive, flowing rather than the choppiness that sometimes occurs with mystery writings. Reminds me of Cynthia Murphy (Win Lose Kill Die) or Kathryn Foxfield's writings (Good Girls Die First) but slightly more mature and less young adult with deeper, more intricate plot lines. Small details mentioned make you wonder their significance and bring you further into the world and more connected to the characters you end up loving.
