Lauren is a very high schoolish girl

It's been a while since I really enjoyed a teen drama. It's not that I'm all that mature, I guess it just feels like the characters are super young and too much like my own children. It's hard to get into the story without being judgy. Lauren, the main character in this book, seems like a decent kid but she definitely has high school issues in trying to figure out where she belongs in Happy Valley. It sounds like something happened back in her old town and she's trying to forget it. I did feel sorry for her because her mom is a little too into her boyfriend. I hate when women put men before their kids.
