I was thrilled to have the opportunity to read and review this wonderful collection of short stories by emerging African authors. First, I appreciated hearing from these lesser-known voices. This compilation was put together in an attempt to promote native African writers who have gotten relatively less "press" on the world stage. I was honored to have gotten to read their work.
I enjoyed each of the stories, for different reasons. Of course I loved some more than others, but felt that I gained something from the time spent with each of them. Each story provided a unique insight into some aspect of the culture and/or mindset of the part of Africa in which it was set.
I've made notes of my favorite authors from the collection, and will be seeking out future works they create. I always enjoy the chance to broaden my literary horizons!
