From the first short story - I was hooked. And I mean HOOKED. The first story was so scary and spooky, I wanted it to be a full book.
After reading more of the short stories - especially The Newlyweds' Window and Old Photographs, I could easily see each story being complete OR a full book.
The settings, the characters, the violence, the love - this collection had all of it.
I honestly rarely read collections of short stories but haven't read any African literature and am so glad I did.
I plan on sharing this wonderful book with my two English major cousins. I know they will appreciate the creativity, the gasping-out-loud creepiness, the sadness and the love.
